Rowllr is a creator-first platform that enables creators to sell digital content and digital access directly to their audience. This Refund Policy explains how refunds, disputes, and chargebacks are handled on the Rowllr platform.
By using Rowllr, you agree to this Refund Policy along with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Introduction & Scope
This Refund Policy applies to all purchases made on Rowllr, including:
- Paid chapters or stories
- Subscriptions and memberships
- Digital files, resources, or downloads
- Any other digital goods or digital access sold on the platform
Rowllr only sells digital goods and digital access, not physical products. Because digital goods are delivered instantly or near-instantly, refunds are exceptions, not defaults.
2. Nature of Digital Goods (Important)
- All purchases on Rowllr are for digital content or digital access.
- Delivery is instant or near-instant after successful payment.
- Once accessed, digital content cannot be returned.
- For this reason, digital goods are generally non-refundable.
- This is a standard practice across digital content platforms and is required for payment gateway compliance.
3. Who Can Issue Refunds
- Creators control refund decisions for their own content.
- Creators may issue refunds at their discretion.
- Rowllr does not automatically issue refunds on behalf of creators.
- Rowllr may assist creators in issuing refunds in special circumstances.
- Rowllr is not obligated to issue refunds unless required by law or payment gateway rules.
- Rowllr acts only as a technology platform facilitating transactions between creators and users.
4. When Refunds May Be Granted
Refunds may be considered in limited and verified situations, such as:
- Payment successful but content not accessible due to technical error
- Duplicate charges for the same transaction
- Platform-side technical failures
- Unauthorized or fraudulent transactions (after verification)
- Legal or compliance requirements under applicable law
Refund decisions are made on a case-by-case basis.
5. When Refunds Are Not Granted
Refunds will generally not be issued in the following cases:
- Content has already been accessed or consumed
- Change of mind or personal preference
- Dislike of the content or creator
- Creator has clearly stated a no-refund policy
- Abuse or repeated misuse of the refund system
Except where required by law, this Refund Policy does not create a legal entitlement to refunds.
6. Refund Process & Timeline
To request a refund:
- Users must contact support@rowllr.com from their registered email address.
- If required, the creator will be contacted for approval.
- Once approved, refunds are processed within 5-7 working days.
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method used.
- Currency conversion differences or bank charges are non-refundable.
Actual refund time may vary based on the payment partner and the user’s bank.
7. Indian & International Refunds
For India:
- UPI, card, and net-banking refunds are processed as per gateway rules.
- Processing times depend on banks and payment partners.
For International users:
- Card or wallet refunds may take longer due to international banking systems.
- Exchange rate differences and international banking delays are outside Rowllr’s control.
8. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
If a user initiates a chargeback or payment dispute:
- Rowllr may temporarily hold creator payouts.
- Accounts involved in repeated disputes may be restricted or suspended.
- Rowllr may recover chargeback losses from future creator earnings.
- Payment gateway rules will override platform rules in dispute cases.
Rowllr’s decision in refund or dispute matters shall be final unless overridden by payment partner rules or applicable law. Abuse of chargebacks may result in permanent account restrictions.
9. Creator Responsibility & Refund Abuse
Creators are responsible for:
- Following applicable consumer and digital commerce laws
- Clearly communicating refund expectations to their audience
Users who repeatedly abuse refunds or disputes may:
- Lose refund privileges
- Face account restrictions or termination
Rowllr reserves the right to refuse refunds in cases of abuse, fraud, or misuse.
10. Policy Updates
Rowllr may update this Refund Policy from time to time to reflect changes in platform features, legal requirements, or payment partner rules. Material changes will be notified through the platform or email. Continued use of Rowllr after updates means acceptance of the revised policy.
